Frequently Asked Questions

My widget is not updating. What can I do?

iOS and macOS control widget refresh timing to preserve battery life. Open the Widget Vault app to trigger a manual refresh. You can also long-press the widget and tap Edit Widget to force a reload. If the problem persists, remove and re-add the widget.

The Weather or Sunrise widget shows placeholder data.

These widgets require location permission. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Widget Vault (iOS) or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services (macOS) and set access to While Using the App or Always. Then open Widget Vault and tap a weather widget to refresh.

My Clipboard History widget is not capturing copies.

On iOS 16+, the system asks for clipboard permission the first time Widget Vault reads the clipboard. Make sure you allow access when prompted. On macOS, clipboard access is granted automatically to apps in the same App Group. Also ensure the Clipboard History widget is added to your Home Screen or desktop.

My To-Do List widget is not showing my tasks.

Tasks are synced to the widget when you open the Widget Vault app. Open the app, then wait a moment for the widget to refresh. Make sure Widget Vault has been launched at least once after adding tasks.

How do I change a widget's design or theme?

Tap (iOS) or click (macOS) the widget on your Home Screen or desktop. This opens Widget Vault directly to that widget's settings where you can choose from multiple design variants, colour themes, and display options.

How do I restore my subscription after reinstalling?

Open the Widget Vault app and tap the premium unlock screen, then tap Restore Purchases at the bottom. Ensure you are signed in to the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple, not through Widget Vault itself.
iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, find Widget Vault, and tap Cancel Subscription.
Mac: Go to System Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, find Widget Vault, and click Cancel Subscription.

What is the difference between free and premium?

Free users get three fully-featured widgets: Analog Clock, Digital Clock, and Pomodoro Timer — each with multiple design variants. A Premium subscription unlocks seven additional widgets: To-Do List, Calendar, Weather, Sunrise & Sunset, Battery Status, Disk Space, and Clipboard History.

Is my data private? Is anything sent to a server?

Widget Vault stores all data locally on your device. No widget configurations, to-do items, clipboard history, or personal information are ever transmitted to any server. Weather data is fetched via Apple's WeatherKit framework. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Which widget sizes are supported?

All 10 widgets are available in Small (2×2), Medium (4×2), and Large (4×4) sizes on both iOS and macOS.

The Pomodoro Timer widget is not interactive on my device.

Interactive widgets require iOS 17+ or macOS 14+. On older OS versions, the Pomodoro widget will display the current timer state but cannot be controlled directly from the widget — open the Widget Vault app to start/pause the timer instead.
